Do you love nature? Are you passionate about going out in nature? I think many of us feel desperate to step out of home when we work for long or spend the whole day inside our homes.
When we feel we can’t breathe more inside these claustrophobic places, be it at home or our workplace, the only place we want to go is to open air.
And that’s what the word Friluftsliv means. If you want to live your life in the Friluftsliv way, then you need to go to open-air and live the outdoor life to its fullest.
In the Scandinavian culture, Friluftsliv is a beautiful way to enjoy open-air-living. It’s a part of their lives so that they can see the greenery, the water, the forests, and flowers, and the sky and everything in nature. And this way, they enjoy being in the open air between their daily life routine.
Nature helps to heal your mind. Therefore, being in nature helps to strengthen your mental and physical abilities in the manifold.
After all, who can ignore the magical effect of going out, breathing in the open air and soothing your eyes with the lavish greenery?
And here lies the magic of celebrating in being in nature.
Scandinavians have a strong passion for nature and this cuts to the heart of the art that is called Friluftsliv. This expression was very popular in the 1850s.
Norwegian poet and playwright, Henrik Ibsen used this special term to bring out the value of spending time in nature. Especially when the person visits a remote place, far from the urban noise and the hustles of city life, he can explore the place being in the open air.
Along with this, they can uplift their moods with the soothing sound of nature. This helps in getting a better result to maintain their spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Friluftsliv can be practised with simple activities to enjoy nature in your small breaks. If you are at your workplace, you can take a small break at lunchtime and go outdoors. Whether be it walking on the grass or running in the forest, or watching the river water just by sitting beside the river.
Many times people enjoy being with friends and having an adventure in nature with the purpose of celebrating Friluftsliv. Sometimes, they can go to a mountain hut and simply spend time being there, watching the snowfall and enjoying the chilling wind.
This way, the people can get a chance to go out of their workplaces and engage themselves in different outdoor activities as per their own choices.
Oh, I remember, it’s already 5 PM and I am feeling dead tired while working on my blog series. Let me have a small break from work and go for a walk instead.
I am going to enjoy Friluftsliv and have a deeper connection with nature.
See you tomorrow, with a new art of life!
