Pause to Ponder

O dear traveller, it has been long you have been travelling.
Let’s have a break from walking on the road.
Let’s pause here for a moment, and stare.
It has been long we have seated together.
You and me, beneath the night sky;
It has been long we have played in the sun,
and when it rained,
Under the tree, we took a shelter.
Let’s pause for a moment, and stare
at the beauties hidden in the tiny things around,
Here, there, and everywhere.
“They look so simple, what to look for there?”
You might wonder.
Look at them closely, dear traveller.
Aren’t they the ordinary miracles,
That you always try to discover?
Can you remember when you left home,
What was your longest desire?
To walk on the road of life,
and to find those tiny miracles
that you skipped watching before.
To watch the mountains and snow,
With the first ray of dawn, how they shimmer, how they glow.
To see the sunset at the horizon.
To stay at a remote village, so far
from your home.
To walk beside an unknown river,
and to see the reflection of the sunset colors, to watch them glisten in the river water.
To watch it rain,
and to hear the sound of the raindrops on the window pane,
It’s time to be amazed by seeing
the dewdrops on the grass tip,
and let your soul be healed,
Beside the river, with the evening breeze.
Celebrate the smile of a child,
Or a sweet hug from your sister,
Or the cutest cuddle of your son,
and embark on a journey of healing someone’s scars.
Bring back the nostalgia of your childhood days,
Cherish the lost days, confined within the dried flowers,
and the ripped papers.
Dear traveller, it has been long you have been travelling,
Let’s have an escape from the rush of life,
Come, let’s sit here, and smell the sweet lavender,
Because it’s our time, to pause, to ponder.
