Mindful Journaling: An Effective Way to find the inner calm

Day 10

Word of the Day – Journaling

Mindful journaling is a way of meditative writing. To keep your thoughts aligned, you need to write them down on paper. When you’re writing your heart out there, you will feel that you’re writing much more than you have planned. Because when you sit for penning down your feelings and emotions, there happens many other things coming out unpredictably.
Journaling is an effective way to be mindful and be aware of the present moment. Writing is an impactful way of shifting your awareness. Keeping a journal is always an effective way to experience that shift.
So, today we will work on aligning our thoughts through the medium of Journaling.

Here begins the day of Journaling.

The task of the day:
Sit and relax. Stay in the present. Have a deep breath before you start writing.
Be aware of the present moment. Try to vacuum your mind and let go of your unnecessary thoughts.
Make mindful observations.
Start the process of observing your mind and try to start writing something positive at first. You can try to write about something that made you happy recently or about something that made you motivated.
Learn to separate yourself from your thoughts. When you are able to observe your thoughts, you will be able to see that whatever your mind is telling you now, is something derived from the experiences whatever you are attached to.
Allow yourself to continue the endless chatter in your mind. After some moments, try to bring your mind to the present moment and write about your observations.
In the middle of writing, take a break and have a deep breath. Then, notice the colour of the ink you are using in your pen. Observe the letters you are writing and try to find a pattern in your handwriting.
Carefully think about what is going on around you. You can make subheadings in your writing to emphasize more on your observations.

Quote of the day:

When you journal your thoughts, you become more attentive to your inner dialogues.

– The Saffron Storyteller

Affirmations of the day:
Journaling helps you build the habit of being aware and present. It will help you see your surroundings as well as your emotions. Use positive affirmations to keep yourself positive and be inspired by your own life.
Say, I am enough for taking care of my emotional well being. Today, I wrote my thoughts in the journal and align my thoughts to increase positive vibes around me.

Write in your journal:
Use all of your senses to experience the present moment. Observe what is going in your mind without any judgment.
Make inner dialogues and imaginary narrations.
Create a narrative in your mind revolving around the things that you notice or the thoughts in your mind.
Your goal is to stay in the present moment while creating your own narrative to go with the flow.

The last step of the process:
Before you leave the place, assure yourself by saying:
“Today, I take a pause and express my thoughts on paper. I learned to align thoughts in my life. I choose to be here and now.
I will let this peace of mind stay with me for the whole day.
I will come back tomorrow with a new purpose and try to learn a new way of living mindfully.

I am here to receive more peace and more calm in my life.”

This is all for today. We will come back here tomorrow once again with a new way of mindful living. Till then, be calm, be peaceful, be mindful.
